Scotland is characterized by rugged mountain landscapes, between which stretch glacial valleys (glens) and lakes (lochs). The best known examples are Loch Ness and Loch Lomond. Sporting competitions, the "Highland Games", take place regularly in the highlands, with various competitions such as rope pulling, hammer throwing, races or traditional dancing. They are accompanied by traditional music, especially bagpipes.
The largest cities include the capital, Edinburgh, with its famous hilltop castle, and Glasgow, known for its vibrant cultural scene.

Wearing a uniform is usually compulsory. Our partner organization offers various excursions that you can take part in during your time in Scotland. A small fee will be charged.
Host families in Scotland are very welcoming. Tradition plays a big role and value is placed on family cohesion. You will be treated like a family member with all rights and duties. It is therefore very important that you are open, honest and helpful and follow your host family's house rules. This way you will quickly get to know and love the Scottish mentality!
