With LGA to France

France is well-known for its medieval towns, mountain villages and Mediterranean beaches. Because of its shape it is often called "hexagon". Apart from the mainland, France also includes overseas islands and territories on several continents. The capital, Paris, is considered to be a first-rate fashion and cultural centre. In addition to classical art museums such as the Louvre, there are landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame Cathedral. The country is also famous for its wines and refined cuisine. Evidence of France's rich history can be seen in the Roman theatre in Lyon or the magnificent Versailles Castle.

Our partner in France

We work together with a very experienced local partner organization. The local counselors are there for you and will help you in all matters (host family, school, etc.) We receive regular reports from France and are always available for you and your parents during office hours - in case of difficulties also around the clock.

Schools

The French education system is considered one of the best in the world. High expectations are placed on the students. You will attend a so called “lycée” from Monday to Friday. Subjects such as French, mathematics, geography, biology, history, physics, sports, foreign languages and optional subjects are part of the normal timetable. The school year begins in September and ends in June. This program is aimed at students aged between fifteen and eighteen. Prerequisites are good academic performance and at least 2 years of French lessons.

Host families

The host families in France are very welcoming and happy to host students. You will immediately become part of the family and share the everyday life with them. You will be treated like a family member with all rights and duties. It is therefore very important that you are open, honest and helpful and follow the house rules of your host family. In this way you will quickly get to know and love the French culture!
